In fact, I licked aout 5 walls. At a Salt Mine, so it wasn’t weird. Okay, maybe a little excessive, but our tour guide told us to.
Krakow, Poland. The land of currency I still can’t pronounce, but sounds like “zlotty.” I must give a shout out to my hostel, Mosquito Hostel, because they have made this trip SO much better. It is the absolute best hostel I have stayed at yet. They have free breakfast, AND dinner if you sign up, they have a free bar crawl every night, and activities every day. Plus the reception girls are the nicest people ever, and I feel like we are besties. Anywho…
Krakow at night. This is a perfect sized city, as in you can easily walk everywhere, and there is still enough to see.
PIEROGIES! I didn’t know they were a Polish food, but I couldn’t be happier that they are. They are seriously so delicious, and I found a 24 hour piergoie place… that I might just go to after I write this. I’ve tried all sorts, including the “ruskie” which are what I’m used to- potatoes and cheese, and the “meat” one which I don’t know what it was but tasted awesome, the cabbage one, also good, ad a dessert piergoie, apple flavored. Also- they make a tasty snack for after… you enjoy a beverage.
Krakow during the day. We had beautiful weather, and I’ve made some cool friends in said awesome hostel.
This is the famed dragon. City legend says that under this castle there used to be caves where lived dragons. So about every 15 minutes, this one breathes fire for about 10 seconds. I’d like to include this picture because I think it’s hilarious. Out of no where, kids swarmed like bees on honey. The look on my face is classic. Uh- what are you doing? This is my dragon. They also looked at me like I was crazy because I was an adult climbing on a dragon… Yolo.
OOH. MUCH CITY. VERY NICE.
These are my new friends! L>R Me, Brooke, Laurel, Alex, and Cam  (who was the mosqu to my ito, because I stole her sticker and ripped it in half, so we could share.) It was here that I tried a hazelnut vodka shot, which pretty much tasted like Nutella. If that ever comes to the states, Lord bless the fraternities. Girls love Nutella.
Another really fun part of my trip was my visit to the Wieliczka Salt Mines, where I licked the walls… a lot. Salt was one of the things that made Poland rich back in the day, and a Hungarian princess eventually became a saint or something due to this mine.
This is the coolest room. EVERYTHING is made out of salt, including the chandeliers.
Casually just the Last Supper carved out of salt.
For Leah and Mike. This is a gnome carved out of salt. The miners used to think that having these little guys would bring them luck and keep them safe.
The salt mine was… salty. The walls were also salty, in case you were wondering how they tasted. I can tell you are just dying to know.
This is a Zapiekana! It’s a Polish mushroom sandwich, and our hostel made them the night before, and I had another one. SERIOUSLY SO TASTY.
I’ll just leave this here. I found this while walking around the Jewish Quarter, and absolutely love it. Singing in the Rain is my jam.
Thanks for sticking with me! As a special treat I’ll leave you with a fun fact: Koalas fingerprints are indistinguishable from those of humans, and if found at a crime scene they would be confused. Because you needed that in your life.
